C = n / V relates molar concentration, amount of substance, and volume. When the amount of substance is obtained by weighing, n = m / M computes it from the mass and molar mass of the solute.

The main mode only handles molar concentration (mol/L): for a mass concentration (g/L), use the solution preparation calculator instead. The mass → amount of substance mode assumes a correct molar mass for the actually weighed solute (watch out for hydrated forms).
